Pepsi Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show

Bruno Mars was the only good thing about the Super Bowl. I know, I know. That seems really harsh. But did you watch the game? And did you watch the Halftime show? Which one did you find more classically entertaining? The game itself was very MEH. There is little to talk about in terms of the game. We know which team won. We know which team didn’t win. But the only time it felt like the audience was winning was during the halftime show. Why? Well, let’s talk about it.

Bruno Mars did something amazing last night at the Super Bowl. He brought out some cool, classic, retro style and sound. If you looked up on stage while he was performing, it was all very much a nod to classic Motown. Him and his entire band had matching suits and matching dance moves. Even the simple fact that he opened it all up with a rip-roaring drum solo shows the man is extremely talented, even if you may not like his particular kind of music.

On top of that, bringing out the RHCP to sing Give It Away was a moment full of bombastic energy that you could not help but get swept up in. It also felt decidedly less shallow than what would have probably went down had someone like Katy Perry taken the stage. Overall, it was classy and wildly entertaining.

Which ultimately proves our point that Bruno Mars was the only good thing about the Super Bowl.
