Emma Fuhrmann Endgame
Cassandra “Cassie” Lang is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The daughter of Scott Lang, the character first appeared in Marvel Premiere #47 as Cassie Lang, in Young Avengers #6 as Stature and in Astonishing Ant-Man #6 as Stinger. A member of the Young Avengers and The Initiative, she has the same powers as her father, the ability to shrink and grow in size; however, she manifested her powers much later than her first exposure to Pym Particles.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, the character was portrayed by Abby Ryder Fortson in Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp, and now by Emma Fuhrmann in Avengers: Endgame.
Cassie Lang is introduced to the Marvel Universe as the ill daughter of Scott Lang. Her congenital heart condition forces her father to steal Hank Pym’s Ant-Man equipment and Pym Particles, which he uses to rescue Doctor Sondheim, the only doctor able to cure Cassie’s condition, from Cross Technological Enterprises.
After the divorce of her parents, Cassie lives for most of her childhood with her father, whom she loves and admires greatly. Although Scott tries his best to keep his superhero life secret, Cassie gradually finds out that he is Ant-Man, and secretly experiments with his Pym Particle supplies on her own.
She is fascinated by her father’s life as a superhero, and generally has a good relationship with her father’s colleagues; when she was younger, she even called Tony Stark “Uncle Tony”. However, her mother and stepfather fear that his life with the Avengers is unsafe for a child, and they claim custody over Cassie.
Scott’s time as an engineer for the Fantastic Four brings Cassie to the team’s then-headquarters of Four Freedoms Plaza. In the spectacular environment Cassie calls home, she forges a strong friendship with the former ward of Doctor Doom, Kristoff Vernard. During the time they share a home with the Fantastic Four, Cassie helps Kristoff adjust to life outside of Doom’s castle, and she develops a crush on him. It is also during this time that she meets her father in his Ant-Man identity, and confesses that she had known about it for a long time.
After the Fantastic Four go missing and Cassie’s father finds himself without a job, Scott takes employment at Oracle, Inc. with the Heroes for Hire. While working with the Heroes for Hire, Cassie has further adventures, accidentally activating the Super-Adaptoid and receiving horrifying visions of things to come.
The H4H easily defeated Super-Adaptoid, and Cassie’s participation in these dark events help her father and his allies defeat Master of the World in a battle for the fate of the Earth.[volume & issue needed] All of these adventures give Cassie a taste for the action-filled life of a superhero, but it causes her mother to take sole custody from Scott.
As a result of Cassie being kept away from her father Scott, she grows more and more bitter toward her mother, and even more so toward her stepfather Blake Burdick. As a police officer, he cannot stand the world of superheroes the young girl loves, and he unsuccessfully tries to keep Cassie and Scott apart. For years, Cassie visits her father whenever possible, much to her mother and stepfather’s chagrin, until the events of “Avengers Disassembled”, when Scott is killed due to the actions of an insane Scarlet Witch.
Cassie retreats into herself, blaming Blake for being unable to understand her as her father always did. Blake tries unsuccessfully to be a caring stepfather, despite being sometimes distant toward her, seeing his stepdaughter as a “less than brilliant” girl. Sometime after her father’s death, and after another confrontation with her mother and stepfather, Cassie decides to run away to Los Angeles to join the Runaways, but after seeing the “Young Avengers” on television just before leaving, she subsequently changes her plans, as she later tells Jessica Jones.

Emma Fuhrmann Ant-Man
Ant-Man is a 2015 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics characters of the same name: Scott Lang and Hank Pym. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the twelfth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film was directed by Peyton Reed, with a screenplay by the writing teams of Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish, and Adam McKay and Paul Rudd.
It stars Rudd as Scott Lang / Ant-Man, alongside Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Anthony Mackie, Wood Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. In Ant-Man, Lang must help defend Pym’s Ant-Man shrinking technology and plot a heist with worldwide ramifications.
The development of Ant-Man began in April 2006 with the hiring of Wright to direct and co-write with Cornish. By April 2011, Wright and Cornish had completed three drafts of the script and Wright shot test footage for the film in July 2012. Pre-production began in October 2013 after being put on hold so that Wright could complete The World’s End.
Casting began in December 2013, with the hiring of Rudd to play Lang. In May 2014, Wright left the project citing creative differences, though he still received screenplay and story credits with Cornish as well as an executive producer credit. The following month, Reed was brought in to replace Wright, while McKay was hired to contribute to the script with Rudd. Principal photography took place between August and December 2014 in San Francisco and Metro Atlanta.
Ant-Man held its world premiere in Los Angeles on June 29, 2015, and was released in the United States on July 17, 2015, in 3D and IMAX 3D. It grossed more than $519 million worldwide and received positive reviews from critics, who generally welcomed the film’s smaller stakes than preceding MCU installments, as well as its cast (particularly Rudd, Peña, Lilly, and Douglas), humor and CGI sequences. A sequel, titled Ant-Man and the Wasp, was released on July 6, 2018.

Emma Fuhrmann Interview
Avengers: Endgame’ is the biggest and most talked-about movie in the world right now. HL spoke EXCLUSIVELY with Emma Fuhrmann about playing Cassie Lang, the super ‘secretive’ set, and more.
The details surrounding Avengers: Endgame were kept under lock and key as to not spoil the endgame until the movie was released on April 26.
One of the most delightful surprises was Emma Fuhrmann, 17, playing an older Cassie Lang. Ant-Man’s daughter was one of the select few who survived Thanos’s snap and their reunion 5 years after was one of the many emotional moments in the movie.
Emma actually auditioned for the film back in June 2017. “I didn’t know what role it was,” Emma told HollywoodLife. “They used a fake name, fake scripts, so I thought I was auditioning for young Scarlett Johansson. I had no idea. I thought it was maybe a young Black Widow. I went in, I did my thing, not knowing what role or pretty much anything. When I found out I got it, I was like, ‘Okay, I need to watch every Marvel movie ever. I need to catch up.’”
She did tell her family that she got the role of Cassie, but that was it. “That’s why it was so exciting when the movie came out and I could finally say something,” Emma said. “So many people had texted me ‘Oh my gosh! I just saw your face on the big screen. Why didn’t you tell me?’ Well, I couldn’t really. That’s been so fun. People have been saying that I’ve kept the secret really well. That means a lot. It’s been stressful.”
Emma revealed that she didn’t get a real script until she got to set. “They’re so secretive,” the actress said. “I showed up on set not even knowing what my scene was going to be like. They told me it was going to be similar to my audition scene, but I had no clue.” For Emma, she was totally up for the challenge of just having to dive right into the role on set.
“I think as an actor you train to just be able to be thrown into situations like this,” she continued. “I got to my trailer, I started immediately working on my scene, and I think I was just on cloud nine the whole time. The whole filming experience I was just soaking it all up. I can’t complain. Even though I showed up not knowing what I was doing, it was still a wonderful experience.”
Playing Ant-Man’s daughter meant Emma was going to work alongside Paul Rudd. Being the friend fan that she is, working with Paul just took the experience to a whole new level. “I was so excited,” Emma gushed. “I immediately thought of Clueless and Friends. I’ve watched Friends a billion times over so I was so excited to see Mike Hannigan in real life. He is just the sweetest, most amazing, genuine guy. He is everything you would want him to be. It was such an honor.”
Now that Avengers: Endgame is out, fans are already looking ahead to what’s possibly next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the comics, Cassie Lang ends up having the same powers as her father and becomes a member of the Young Avengers. HollywoodLife asked Emma about possibly returning to the role in future projects. “I would be honored to be a part of anything Marvel,” Emma said. “That would be a dream come true.”
The massive Avengers: Endgame premiere on April 22 in Los Angeles was such an incredible experience for Emma. She admitted that she did shed tears during the movie, especially at the end. “I cried like five times,” Emma said. “I’m sitting in the premiere with my hair, makeup, dressed up, and I’m just bending over so the tears don’t roll down my face and just fall on the floor. It was just everything the fans deserved. It was a wonderful end to this chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
I have no complaints.” She also brought up a sweet moment she shared with Robert Downey Jr. “I went up to take a cast photo, and afterward we were all let loose and Robert Downey Jr. looks up at me, gives me two thumbs up, and tells me ‘good job.’ I just about died right then and there. Life complete. I was speechless.”
