They’d bought the five-bedroom Wharf Road home, which isn’t directly on the waterfront but has northerly views over Watsons Bay, in 2004.

Property records show the chef transferred the property, which has been home to the couple’s four children Constance, Honor, Violette and Loïc, to Sanchia in 2018.

Sanchia, who is the daughter of multi-millionaire Sydney businessman Charles Curran and wife Eva, us understood to now be looking for a new eastern suburbs home with her partner, Sydney solicitor Paul Smith.

The solicitor had lost his much-loved wife, barrister and mother of their three young children, Katrina Dawson, in the Lindt Cafe tragedy of December 2014.

Brahimi and Smith, who got together in November 2016, had no comment when contacted by the Wentworth Courier last night, but the off-market sale has been the source of much chatter among sales agents.

No agent was involved with the sale.

There’d been offers of $17m, but sources say it eventually sold for $18m.

That’s a huge result. The home is apparently quite nice inside, but ready for a makeover.

The sale matches the $18m Wharf Road record set in 2014 when entrepreneur Brett Blundy and wife, Vanessa, sold their five-bedroom, five-bathroom home. But that was on more than 1600 sqm, had a championship-sized tennis court and heated swimming pool. Plus, it was on Kutti Beach.

Guillaume Brahimi bought a freestanding cottage in Watsons Bay for $4.5m in 2020. The historic cottage was redesigned more than a decade ago by architect firm Durbach Block Jaggers.
